Oil’s well

You can’t just go putting any old oil in your BMW – the company is very specific about what you can and can’t use in each engine and the cars themselves can be very sensitive to what oil they are filled with, particularly the latest EfficientDynamics examples and M power models.

But trying to find the right oil when you most need it can be a bit of a nightmare, which is why BMW has teamed up with Castrol to bring you Oil Check Kits.

Each kit features a zip-up oil holder with Velcro strips so you can stick it to your boot lining and comes with a one-litre bottle of Castrol oil, a top up funnel, dipstick wipes, gloves and hand wipes, giving you everything you need to check and top up your oil in one handy kit. Two kits are available – one with SLX LL04 oil, which is compatible with vehicles back to 1998, and one with TWS Motorsport oil for M power cars.

Whether you’re off on a road trip or just commuting to and from work, it’s indispensable and you can keep one tucked in the boot, out of the way, safe in the knowledge that when that little yellow oil can appears on your dash, you’ve got everything you need to make it go away and that you’ve used the right oil for the job.
