Show time

ShowtimeIt’s almost time for the BMW Car Club Festival at Gaydon and this year’s show promises to be even bigger and better than before. If you’re a BMW fan then the Heritage Motor Centre is the place to be on Sunday 15 August.

Last year 3500 like-minded BMW enthusiasts turned up to pore over their favourite marque in the glorious sunshine. The club expects well over 4000 visitors this year, so if you haven’t got your ticket yet you’ll need to get a move on. Around 800 cars are expected in the main displays and you can expect to see M Power displays, Alpinas, Z cars as well as two special displays of E36 M3 GTs and E21s, plus an attempt to set a new world record for the most Z3 M Coupés together at the same time, with 150 cars expected to attend.

There will be trade displays with BMW Dealers, specialist tuners, detailers and parts suppliers all selling their wares plus BMW Car magazine will be there, as always, and we’ve got some very cool cars on our stand this year so make sure you come over for a chat.

The club will also be holding its famous raffle – over 2000 tickets are available and each one wins a prize, with the top one being a BMW Cruise Bike, donated by BMW UK. But there are plenty of other goodies to win such as Bluetooth headsets and a sat nav.

You’ll also be able to take your car out on the Aston Martin/Jaguar test track, though this needs to be booked directly through Gaydon – visit http://events.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/events-2010–bmw.html. Meguiar’s is sponsoring the Show ’n’ Shine competition, with trophies and goodie packs for the cleanest cars and winners will be eligible for selection to the Showcase Final at the NEC Classic Car Show in November.

The entry fee is £12 on the day (£10 in advance) with family tickets just £38 for two adults and three children on the day (£28 in advance).

Tickets are available from the shop on the BMW Car Club website at www.bmwcarclubqb.co.uk or from the Club Office on 01225 709009 from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

Entry to the BMW Festival includes entry to the Heritage Motor Centre museum so this is a real bargain and a great way to spend a Sunday – we’ll see you there.
